Welcome to the integrated Waldkita

"Die Plänter"!

As the group name suggests, our forest kindergarten is located in the Plänterwald. The premises are at Rodelbergweg 2, directly at Plänterwald, on the corner of Neue Krugallee, near the S-Bahn station. Baumschulenweg in Treptow. In the day-care center, 25 children from the age of 1 year until they start school are accompanied by appropriate specialist staff. The opening hours are Mo.-Fr. from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., due to the weekly team meeting, the facility closes at 4 p.m. on Tuesdays.

The majority of the daily routine takes place in the Plänterwald. We differentiate between our summer daily routine (May 1st to October 31st of a year) and our winter daily routine (November 1st to April 30th of a year).

An annual plan regulates our daycare year from 01.08. until 31.07. one year.

Integrated Waldkita means:
Our integrated forest day-care center includes the concept of a pure forest day-care center, but with the difference that we have permanent premises. This means that all-day care can be offered to children aged 1 and over. Most of the morning care takes place outside in the forest. We use the rooms for lunch and naps, among other things. We developed this form for this location in 2006 after the demand for all-day care with a focus on forest and nature education increased.

Meaning of "Ple(ä)ntern":
Ple(ä)ntern is a forestry term that means something like "to clear". This means that in this forest trees of different age groups grow at the same time. Today, the Plänterwald has an area of about 72 ha, where up to 270 year old beech and oak trees can be found. This puts us in the unique position of being able to bring nature closer to children in the city. Because with public transport you can be in the center of Berlin in about 15 minutes.

By building up a constant, mixed-age children's group, we want the children to have fun.

Experience variety and excitement, and promote their skills and individuality in the course of education.

Our pedagogical rooms, such as the nature and kitchen garden, are designed in such a way that they can be used in different ways by the children and thus represent an invitation to the children's world of experience. Education begins at birth. Here we tie in individually with the child. Goals that we pursue in our pedagogical work form our "Mosaik-WeG".

Mosaik – WeG Structure
Means different ped. Content and focal points that are networked in all our facilities. However, due to the different locations, different weightings are experienced.

  • education in everyday life
  • documentation and presence
  • Gestalt – Pedagogical contact concept
  • Clear room concept
  • Encouraging the child's competency areas
  • pedagogical attitude
  • Active implementation of the Berlin Education Program (BBP)
