Nature-based daycare in Treptower Park
A small house in the middle of Treptower Park, a natural and kitchen garden of over 3,000 m² and Plänterwald forest right next door: up to 24 children aged 1 year to school entry experience nature in the middle of the city with us.

After a kitchen fire that was not our fault – fortunately nobody was hurt – our forest daycare Die Plänter is being renovated. Until they can return, the Plänter children are staying with us at the Karpfenteich as our guests. With a donation, you can help them get back to their daycare sooner.

Treptower Park and Plänterwald forest are right on our doorstep, both border the Spree river – and you can be in the center of Berlin in 15 minutes.
Our own natural and kitchen garden
On more than 3,000 m² of fenced grounds, the children garden, explore and play. On top of that, there is our bee project.

Our location
Since 2002, we have been at home at the Karpfenteich as an independent provider. In the middle of the listed 84-hectare Treptower Park, our small detached house stands on fenced grounds of more than 3,000 m².
We use the grounds as a natural and kitchen garden – a place where the children can be outdoors every day and experience the seasons.
Plänterwald forest and the Spree
Right next door is Plänterwald forest, covering around 89 hectares, with beech and oak trees up to 270 years old. Both areas are bordered on one side by the Spree river.
This way we can bring nature closer to city children – and still be in the center of Berlin in about 15 minutes by bus and train.
Our educational approach
In a stable, mixed-age group, we want to experience fun, joy, variety and excitement with the children and foster their competences and individuality. Education begins at birth – we connect with each child individually.
The building blocks of our concept “Mosaik – WeG” are interlinked in all our daycare centers and weighted differently depending on the location.

To communicate with you, all our daycare centers use the daycare app Kikom. This way you are always up to date – simply, quickly and directly on your smartphone.

- Parents’ evenings and parent representative meetings also online – via video call directly in the app
- Direct exchange between daycare and parents

free of charge
The costs are covered by the State of Berlin via the Kita voucher (Kita-Gutschein).
Lunch
€23 / month
Statutory parental contribution, currently set at €23 by the Berlin Senate (TKBG).
Our flat fee
€60 / month
For our bee project, the natural and kitchen garden, as well as breakfast and afternoon snack.
Transparent: reviewed every year against actual expenses – and never more than €60.
Daycare year
August 1 – July 31
